The week

“Five nights, one kettle.”

Doors open at six from Wednesday to Sunday. Here is what each night is for, so you can pick the one that suits you and your week, and see where a newcomer fits in.

Day by day

“Pick your night.”

DayDoorsWhat happens
Monday and TuesdayClosedThe club room rests. The chat server stays open for arranging matches, swapping tips and sharing the odd photo.
Wednesday6 pmCo-op night: small groups work through campaign and survival games at a gentle pace, with a patient helper at every table.
Thursday6 pmLeague night: one fixture per team, a referee in the room and the ladder updated before anyone goes home.
Friday6 pmThe big LAN: long tables, your own PC, a live network by half past six and the loudest tea break of the week.
Saturday6 pmRetro and tabletop: old consoles on old screens, two-player games and the board game shelf wide open.
Sunday6 pmSlow Sunday: a newcomers' hour first, then easy games for everyone and a tidy finish well before eleven.

“Wednesday is where I learned the maps without anyone watching. By Friday I wanted the big room and the noise, and nobody made me feel slow for needing the quiet night first.”

How a night runs

“Before you plug in.”

  • Arrive from six; setup help is always wanted, and the kettle goes on at ten past.
  • Check for game updates at home, not in the middle of a lobby, so the network stays quick for everyone.
  • Around half past eight there is a tea break: the room pauses and everyone stretches their legs.
  • In the last half hour matches wrap up and the room quietens down for the tidy-up.
  • The lights go off at eleven, with the cables rolled and the tables wiped.
Planning a visit

“Planning your visit.”

“Which night should I try first?”

Wednesday or Sunday if you'd like a quiet start, because both are slow and chatty. Friday is the big one, and perfectly fine for a first visit as long as you don't mind noise.

“Can I turn up late?”

Of course. People arrive from six until about nine, and a late seat is easy to find. Message the chat server if you'd like a hand with your setup when you walk in.

“Can I only manage one night a month?”

Plenty of members do. The ladder allows byes, the chat server keeps you in the loop, and nobody counts attendance. Come when it suits your roster, and tell the chat server if you will be away for a while so we do not worry.
